많이 늦었습니다. 대선+새 대통령 떡밥(?)+ 현업 때문에 영어 포스팅을 거의 못했네요.ㅠㅠ 죄송합니다.
뒤늦게 올리는 어린이날 에피소드인데요, 예문이 너무 재밌고 웃깁니다.ㅎㅎ 즐겁게 배워봅니다.^^

현종: 엄마, 어린이날이에요! 오늘 우리 뭐 할거죠?
엄마: 무슨 소리야? 넌 25살이야!
현종: 예전처럼 5월의 가족 행사를 기념하기 시작합시다. 어때요?

엄마: 꼭 좋았던 옛날처럼 말이지?
현종: 네! 마치 그때처럼요. 오늘 어린이날을 기념하고 5월 8일에는 어버이날을 기념해요!
엄마: 좋을 것 같네. 오늘 뭐 하고 싶니, 아들?

엄마: 빙빙 돌려서 말하지 마. 그냥 네가 갖고 싶은 걸 말해.
현종: 음, 새 전화기를 갖고 싶어요.
엄마: 알겠다. 그렇다면 12월 네 생일까지 기다려야 해.
<영어로 말해보기>
현종: Mom, it's childrn's Day! What are we going to do today!
엄마: What do you mean? You're 25 years old!
현종: Let's start celebrating the family holidays in May, like we used to. What do you think?

What do you mean? : 무슨 소리야? 무슨 뜻이지?

the good old days: 좋았던 옛날

나는 마치 우리가 좋았던 옛날로 돌아간 기분이었어.
beat around the bush: 빙빙 돌려 말하다
Stop beating around the bush. Just get to the point.
빙빙 돌려 말하지 마. 그냥 요점만 말해.
brand new: 완전 새것의
Most of their home appliances are brand new. 그들의 가전 제품들은 대부분 새것이야.
in that case: 그런 경우에는, 그렇다면
A: He might be late for the meeting. 그는 회의에 늦을지도 몰라.
B: In that case, let's have lunch first. 그렇다면, 먼저 점심을 먹자.

want + to부정사 : ~하기를 원하다
What do you want to buy for Mom and Dad? 엄마 아빠께 무엇을 사 드리고 싶니?
Don't(do not) + 동사원형 : ~하지 마라 (부정 명령문)
~하렴, ~해! 라고 말할 때는 동사 원형을 씁니다. 그렇다면 ~하지마!라고 하려면? 동사원형 앞에 not, 그리고 not 앞에 do 동사를 쓰면 됩니다.
Don't be so silly. 그렇게 어리석게 굴지 마.
Do not even think about it. 그런 생각조차 하지 마.
의문사 + 주어 + 동사 : 의문사가 있는 간접의문문
I can't tell you where they went. 그들이 어디로 갔는지 네게 말해줄 수 없어.

to부정사를 목적어로 갖는 동사 : expect, decide
I don't expect to pass the exam. 나는 시험에 합격할 거라고 기대하지 않아.
They finally decided to sell their house. 그들은 마침내 집을 팔기로 결심했어.
whether / if + 주어 + 동사
I wonder whether they will bring some food for the party.
그들이 파티에 음식을 가져올지 아닐지 궁금해.
