회사 내에서 도는 소문이나 루머 등을 회사 사람들과 이야기 나눌 때 어떤 표현을 쓰면서 시작하는지 알아봅니다.

(host, control about.. 이런 동사인가? 하고 긴가민가했는데 conduct 한 단어 쓰면 다 해결되는 거였네요 하하)

The construction noise has been disrupting our meetings for weeks.
공사 소음이 몇 주 동안이나 우리 미팅에 방해가 되고 있어요.

hear through the grapevine ~ 로부터 듣다, 소문을 듣다 (루머 같은..)
A: We keep hearing through the grapevine that our department is moving to Namyangju. Is that true?
B: It seems like it. But nobody's sure yet.
A: 우리 부서가 남양주로 이전한다는 소문이 계속 들리는데요. 사실인가요?
B: 그런 것 같긴 한데요. 아직 아무도 확실하게는 몰라요.
rub someone the wrong way : 사람을 성가시게 하다, 자극하다 / 누군가를 불쾌하게 하거나 화나게 하다
Hanks is often selfish and rubs his coworkers the wrong way.
행크는 종종 이기적인 태도로 동료들을 불쾌하게 만들어요.

I heard it grapevine~ (소문을 듣자하니...)
Veronika: Are you ready to go to Prague in a couple of weeks?
김과장: Not sure. But I'm excited and nervous at the same time.
Veronika: I heard through the grapevine that you're trying to schedule a meeting with a potential investor on the 28th. And you're hoping to meet at 3pm?
김과장: That's right. Why, what's wrong? Is that not OK?
Veronika: You really should get some cultural lessons before you conduct any business with the Czech people. First, many Czechs go on weekend getaways and they usually leave early on Friday. Unless it's an emergency, it would be wise to avoid scheduling anything on Friday afternoon. Disrupting their weekend plans will really rub them the wrong way.
김과장: Oh, I had no idea. I'll try to meet them on Thursday.
베로니카: 몇 주 뒤면 프라하 가시는데, 준비 되셨어요?
김과장: 잘 모르겠어요. 그런데 설레기도 하면서 좀 긴장도 되네요.
베로니카: 소문을 듣자하니 28일에 잠재 투자자와 미팅을 잡으려고 하신다면서요. 오후 3시쯤에요?
김과장: 맞아요. 왜요, 무슨 문제 있어요? 안 되는 건가요?
베로니카: 체코 사람들과 비즈니스를 진행하시기 전에 문화 공부를 꼭 좀 하셔야 해요. 먼저, 체크 사람 대부분은 주말 휴가를 떠나는데, 통상 금요일은 이른 오후면 퇴근이에요. 급한 일이 아니면 금요일 오후 일정은 피하는 게 현명하겠죠. 주말 계획에 지장을 주는 건 그들을 정말 짜증나게 만드는 일이거든요.
김과장: 아, 전혀 몰랐어요. 목요일에 만나보도록 해야겠네요.
